William Elisha James Jaggard was born at Gypsy Hall, Dullingham Ley (Newmarket Q1-1895 3B:525) baptised in Burrough Green on 11th August 1895, son of Mary Maud E. JAGGARD.

1901 census...Aged 6, he was at Gypsy Hall, Dullingham Ley with his grandfather Elisha JAGGARD [52] wood cutter, born Dullingham, his grandmother Mary[49] born Kirtling and uncle Charles JAGGARD [22] wood cutter born Dullingham.

1911 census...Aged 16, a farm labourer, he was at Burrough End, Burrough Green with his grandparents Elisha and Mary JAGGARD, his mother Mary JAGGARD [36] born Dullingham and sister Cloe JAGGARD [8] born Dullingham.

His mother married John CLAYDON in 1915 (Newmarket Q4-1915 3B:1679) and later lived in West Wickham.


He enlisted in Newmarket.
The burial records include the following : "died whilst preparing for military service during the Great War". His "Soldier's Personal Effects" entry states that he died at Colchester Military Hospital. The pension card records he died from bronchitis and his mother was at 9 Station Road, Dullingham.

William Jaggard is buried in Burrough Green (St Augustine's) Churchyard (north of church)
